Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring with us.

How quickly can you deliver a portable toilet?

Next-day delivery is standard across our coverage area. Order before 2pm and your unit arrives the next working day. Same-day delivery is sometimes available for urgent construction or event needs — ask when you request your quote and we'll confirm within 30 minutes.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For standard portaloo or event hire, 2-3 working days' notice is enough. For luxury toilet trailers on peak summer weekends (May-September), book 3-4 weeks ahead — trailer stock is limited and weekends sell out first. Construction site accounts with ongoing weekly hire can typically be set up within 48 hours.

How often do you service units during a hire?

Weekly hire units are serviced once a week as standard: waste tank emptied, refilled with fresh chemical, restocked with toilet paper and hand sanitiser, and cleaned. Event and weekend hires are delivered clean and ready, with servicing scheduled only if the hire extends beyond 3 days. You can add extra service visits at any point for £25-35 per visit.

What happens if a unit needs emptying urgently, outside the scheduled service?

Call-out servicing is available within 24 hours across our coverage area, faster in most areas. Email leads@portabletoiletrentals.co.uk with your site details and we'll get a crew scheduled — you'll get confirmation within 30 minutes (Mon-Sat). There's no penalty for requesting an urgent service; you're simply charged the standard call-out rate if it falls outside your included weekly visit.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before your delivery date. Inside 48 hours, a £35 redeployment fee applies to cover the crew and vehicle already scheduled. Weekly hire contracts can be ended with 7 days' notice — no long-term lock-in.

Are you insured if something goes wrong?

Yes. We carry public liability cover up to £5 million, and every delivery crew is fully insured and DBS-checked. Certificates are available on request — useful if your site or venue needs proof of cover for its own insurance or health and safety file.

What's the minimum hire period?

Weekend event hire runs from Friday delivery to Monday collection as standard, priced as a single weekend rate. Construction and long-term hire has a minimum term of 4 weeks, billed weekly from £25/week. Shorter one-off hires are available on request — ask when you get your quote.

What's the difference between weekend and weekly rates?

Weekend rates cover Friday-to-Monday event hire, typically £45-75 for a standard portable toilet. Weekly rates are for ongoing construction or long-term site use, from £25-35/week per standard unit, billed on a rolling weekly basis with servicing included. Weekly rates work out cheaper per day for hires running longer than 10 days.

What's included in the price?

Delivery, collection, and first fill of chemical and paper are included in every quote — there's no separate delivery charge shown on the page. Weekly hires include one service visit per week. What's not included: extra service call-outs beyond your scheduled visit, and damage beyond fair wear and tear. All pricing is shown upfront on our site; we don't gate rates behind a quote form.

Do you deliver nationwide?

We deliver across our core coverage area with guaranteed next-day service. Outside that area, we can often still help via our delivery partner network — email leads@portabletoiletrentals.co.uk with your postcode and we'll confirm coverage and lead time within 30 minutes.

Do you have disabled-access units available?

Yes. Our disabled-access unit meets Part M accessibility requirements, with a wider door, grab rails, and floor space for wheelchair turning. It's available from £65-95 for a weekend or £35-45/week for longer hire, and can be delivered alongside standard units on the same job.

Do luxury toilet trailers need a power supply?

Yes. Luxury and VIP trailers need a standard 240V mains hook-up within 25 metres of the pitch to run lighting, heating, and the flush and pump system. No mains on site? We can supply a quiet generator for an additional fee — flag this when you request your quote so we bring the right kit.

How much does a luxury toilet trailer cost?

A 1+1 luxury trailer (one ladies, one gents cubicle) starts from £350-450 per weekend. Larger trailers for bigger guest counts — 2+1 or 3+1 configurations — run £550-895 per weekend. Price depends on trailer size, hire length, and site access. All trailers are delivered, plumbed in, and collected as part of the price.

What are your payment terms?

Event and weekend hire is paid in full at booking to secure your date. Construction and weekly-account hire is invoiced weekly or monthly in arrears, with payment due within 14 days. New commercial accounts may be asked for a first-invoice deposit; established accounts move to standard terms after the first job.

Is there a damage or cleaning deposit?

Standard portaloo and weekly construction hire has no deposit — you're simply billed for damage beyond fair wear and tear if it occurs. Luxury toilet trailers require a refundable £150-250 damage deposit, taken at booking and returned within 5 working days of collection, provided the unit is undamaged and reasonably clean.

Can I add extra units or extend my hire once it's started?

Yes, at any point. Email leads@portabletoiletrentals.co.uk with your site reference and what you need added or extended — extra standard units can usually be delivered the next working day, and hire extensions just continue at your existing weekly or per-unit rate with no rebooking fee.
